I offer both remote and in-person consultations. Before scheduling, we will discuss the suitability and sequence of appointments by email to ensure that the plan is appropriate and tailored to your needs or your child’s condition.

Remote Consultations

Remote consultations are conducted via a video link (Zoom or Teams) at a mutually convenient time. They usually last around one hour, though they may occasionally run slightly over. The session is semi-structured and audio-recorded with your formal consent, as this is essential for producing an accurate report; the recording can be shared with you on request.

During the consultation, I will take a detailed vision and developmental history, review the results of any previous investigations, and complete a questionnaire-based assessment for Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI). Both parents are welcome to attend, and older children are encouraged to participate when appropriate. After the session, you will receive a comprehensive written report, with copies sent to all relevant professionals involved in care.

Remote consultation fee: £180–£220

In-Person Consultations

An in-person consultation may be arranged as the first appointment or as a follow-up to a remote consultation if further assessment is required. This appointment provides a full eye and vision evaluation, including non-invasive tests available in the clinic, such as formal visual field testing and eye photography. The consultation typically lasts one hour and may include the use of dilating eye drops, which temporarily blur vision. You should not drive for several hours afterwards, so it is advisable to attend with someone who can accompany you home.

Following the in-person consultation, you will receive a detailed written report, with copies sent to all relevant professionals involved in care.

In-person consultation fee: £225

Additional Information

Fees for insured patients may differ from standard self-funded charges. Costs for follow-up appointments vary according to the complexity of the assessment and the time between visits. Additional investigations may be recommended as part of your or your child’s care.

These will be discussed in advance, and the need for each investigation will be fully explained. Any charges will be provided beforehand, and payment for specific investigations will be made directly to the hospital or laboratory performing them, as these fees are separate from the consultation cost.
